Apartment complexes are multi-story buildings that consist of three or more residences which are enclosed within one structure. More urban areas will show these complexes close to their downtown region. This will allow for its residents to have the benefits of jobs, public transportation, entertainment, dining and more within footsteps of their apartment complex building. Pricing in these urban areas are generally more costly though when compared to the suburban areas. Pricing for apartment complexes in urban areas will be charged per square foot.
These apartment complexes are increasing popular as they have the ability to be built up and up in comparison to other residences. Many sky high apartment complexes in Canada can be found in its urban areas including the Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal areas. These areas grew high demand of apartment complexes in from the 1950’s to the 1970’s. By the 1980’s, the multi-story buildings were being constructed as condominium complexes versus apartment for rent.
Although condominiums evolved greatly in Canada in 1980, both apartment for rent and condominium complexes are very common today. High-rise apartments and condominiums can be found specifically in the Toronto, Canada. They continue to spread around this great city which allows for all its major suburbs to have a skyline view from the comfort of their home.
So what’s the difference between the two? It’s something you may ask yourself since they both seem to be located within the same areas of Canada. The difference between an apartment complex and a condominium complex is simply a legal matter. When browsing through apartment complexes and condominium complexes you will notice multiple similarities. They both may usually include a pool, fitness center, professional landscaping, clubhouses, and so fourth. The appearances on the inside can also reflect the same characteristics. Both are usually the same size; usually have similar appliances and similar layouts as well. With all that said there is no way to tell from the inside or the outside of the complex property if it is an apartment or a condominium. The real difference between the both is that with a condominium, the resident has ownership versus renting. Owners of condominiums pay a mortgage just as an owner of a home would do.
